How To Be Scots-Italian, my new poetry pamphlet.
This pamphlet brings together poems inspired by my own experience and by the stories passed down through my family, spanning the early 20th century to the present day. They are by turns humorous, tender and reflective, with some poems written in standard English and others in Scots. They explore identity, belonging and family, while capturing the distinctive experience of growing up between two worlds.
I decided that, for the cover of my poetry pamphlet, I would do a digital collage, collage being one of my hobbies. It may not be as professional-looking as something designed by AI, but it’s more “me” – literally, as I appear on it! All will be revealed soon, but in the meantime here’s a wee sneaky peek at the section of the cover featuring a (much) younger me!
